Breast Augmentation
WHO IS A CANDIDATE?
* You desire larger breasts to create a more balanced figure or to fill out you clothing and bathing suits.
* You have one breast that is noticeably smaller than the other.
* You have mild breast drooping and desire an uplift and enlargement.
INTENDED RESULT
* Larger and more shapely breasts.
* A more positive self image.
PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
* The procedure is done in Dr. Yarinsky's office facility as an outpatient usually using general anesthesia or IV sedation. You sleep, feel nothing and are amnesic for the surgery.
* A small incision is made around the areola (the pigmented part of the breast). The implant is inserted under the breast tissue and muscle. Saline (salt water) filled implants are usually used. Gel filled implants are available for use in some cases.
RECUPERATION AND HEALING
* You wear a sports bra or dressing and a velcro strap which helps hold your breasts in the correct position. The bra and strap are worn for several weeks.
* Any discomfort is well controlled with oral medication.
* Sutures are usually removed within two weeks.
* Light activities can be resumed as tolerated. Aerobic activities can be started in about 3 weeks.
OTHER OPTIONS
* An additional procedure that may enhance your result is a breast lift--if your breasts are saggy in addition to being small. Many people choose to add liposuction or a tummy tuck to enhance their figure. These procedures can be done at the same time as you breast enlargement.

Tummy Tuck
WHO IS A CANDIDATE?
* You have loose or sagging abdominal skin or a fat roll frequently associated with abnormal relaxation or stretching of the anterior abdominal wall muscles. This condition is common after pregnancies, prior surgery, or massive weight loss.
* You may have rashes beneath your abdominal skin fold.
* You are unable to tighten your abdominal wall skin with diet and exercise. Your clothing does not fit well.
INTENDED RESULT
* A smoother flatter abdomen.
PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
* The procedure is usually performed using general anesthesia as an outpatient in Dr. Yarinsky's office facility.
* Mini-abdominoplasty tightens the lower abdominal wall skin only. Most people will benefit more from a full (standard) tummy tuck.
* Standard abdominoplasty tightens all of the abdominal wall skin.
* Extended abdominoplasty tightens the abdomen and the flanks or sides.
* Belt lipectomy lightens the abdomen, flanks, and the back--all around your waistline.
* Your result will reach the 90% point in six weeks. Further healing and improvement will occur over a year.
RECUPERATION AND HEALING
* Abdominoplasty discomfort is controlled by pain medication taken for one to two weeks.
* Three to five days of total assistance at your home is needed after surgery.
* Walking begins the day after surgery and is comfortable in two weeks. Light activity is comfortable in 10-20 days. Strenuous sports will not be comfortable for about 6 weeks.
OTHER OPTIONS
* Additional procedures that may enhance your result are liposuction, breast lift, augmentation, and reduction, or thigh lift. Some of these can he done at the same time as a tummy tuck.

Liposuction
WHO IS A CANDIDATE?
* You have excess subcutaneous fat that is resistant to diet and exercise, and are no more than 20-30 lbs. above your ideal weight for your height. Liposculpture can be useful to shape heavier persons as well, but is not a weight loss technique for treating obesity. Commonly treated areas are the face, neck, upper arms, chest, trunk, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, knees and ankles.
INTENDED RESULT
* An improvement in the contour of the treated areas. You should have a more flattering figure or physique, and your clothing will fit better.
PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
* Dr. Yarinsky's office is the only one in the Capital District using the external ultrasound assisted technique. The procedure is done in Dr. Yarinsky's office facility as an outpatient using local, intravenous or general anesthesia. The external ultrasound technique allows for easier removal of fat and less bleeding. Small suction tubes (cannulas) are inserted through very short incisions placed in inconspicuous locations near the fat deposits and excess fat is removed. The ultrasound treatment helps to tighten your skin like "shrink-wrap" so that your compression garment may be worn for 3-4 weeks instead of 6 weeks. You will experience less postoperative discomfort and bruising, and attain a smoother contour with this new method. The results are better than those seen with standard liposuction.
